Bata employees who were called up for service in the Armed Forces during the Second World War were guaranteed their jobs on their return after the War.Whilst doing Service for their Country all Bata employees were sent copies of the Bata Record and food/cigarette parcels. Many of them kept in touch with friends both in the Services and in the Factory by writing to the Bata Record about their exploits. In order to keep the Factory running many of the Wives took over their husband’s jobs.
