William Couves

William Couves was a Lance Bombadier in 147 (Essex Yeomanry) Field Regiment, Royal Artillery. No: 977630

He was the son of William F and Ada Couves of Tilbury.

He joined the Bata Shoe Company in 1938 and left 2 years later to join the Army. Whilst with the Company he was employed in Department 680.

William died on Monday 24th July 1944, aged 24 as part of the Western Europe Campaign,he is buried in Bayeux War Cemetery France.
