Jerome Belec was a Flight Sergeant 249 Squadron Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.

He was born in 1924 the son of Napoleon and Ivy Belec.
Born in Canada he came to England when he was 9 with his father, mother and his brother and sister on board Cunard Aquitania third class from New York and arrived in Southampton 5 October 1931 . Jerome Belec, who’s home was in Horndon on the Hill was a member of the wages department before he joined the R.A.F in 1940.
Jerome had a sister, Jeanne, born in 1923 and a brother, Roger, born in 1925, both of whom lived in the United States of America in later life.

Details From RAF Records: Jerome called up and said he was hit ,The aircraft immediately did a spiral turn to the right crashed broke up and caught fire . Jerome did not bale out. Reported missing presume killed
He died on Thursday 6th April 1944.
