Alfred Tuck was an Able Seaman Alfred Tuck died on Tuesday 12th August 1941, aged 29 on board H.M.S. Picotee.

Alfred was the son of Robert Henry and Louise Tuck and husband of Doris Evelyn Tuck of East Tilbury, Essex. His death was reported in the Bata Record of 29th August, 1941.

H.M.S. Picotee was torpedoed and sunk by u-boat U-568 while escorting a convoy off southern Ireland. More than 60 crew were lost.

His wife, Doris, worked for British Bata and at the time of his death she was an attendant on the buffet in the Dining Hall.

Alfred is commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial in Kent.
