Leslie Giles

Leslie Giles was an Ordinary Telgraphist with Royal Navy on H.M.S. Firedrake. Service No C/JX 298331

He was the son of Arthur James and Emily Alice Giles of Tilbury, Essex.

Whilst at the Bata Factory, East Tilbury he worked in Department 422 of the Leather Factory.

Leslie died Thursday 17th December 1942, aged 19 in the North Atlantic when H.M.S. Firedrake was struck by a torpedo fired from Uboat U211. Firedrake sank with the loss of 168 of her crew.
