One of the British Bata “Sunshines”, this is a beach shoe which is bound for the top of the 1963 popularity poll. It is made of a striped multi-coloured textile specially imported from the Unitied States and incorporating all the pastel shades, so that it will tone with any swimsuit or beach clothes.
It is made in mother and daughter styles, the younger fittings having a rounded toe. The colours are fast, so that the shoes can be taken home and scrubbed.
It was designed by Harry Meakins, above, and is being made in Dept 321, under Foreman J Fayers, below.
It sells for 9s. 11d. in the women’s sizes and 7s. 11d. for the children’s sizes.
